How F150 Raptor Sticks to Trails

F150 Raptor is the toughest, smartest, most capable truck ever!  It gets a specially developed set of tires so F150 Raptor sticks to trails. Ford has improved both on- and off-road performance while increasing comfort. See how capable these tires are when Ford uses them on its Raptor race truck in the Best in the Desert race series.

How F150 Raptor Sticks to Trails

F150 Raptor engineers went through more than a dozen variations to ensure the truck sticks to trails.  Eventually they found the right match under the extreme performance expected from Raptor.   After hundreds of hours were spent using computer simulations, Ford and BFGoodrich put the new all-terrain T/A KO2 tires to real word testing.  The result is a tire that enhances off-road performance and improve wear life.

Raptor’s all-new BFGoodrich all-terrain T/A KO2 tires were developed in parallel with the truck’s chassis, so as the platform developed, the tires changed along with it.  A new tread pattern features an optimized contact patch with more tread area, wide channels between the tread, and large sidewall lugs to enhance off-road performance and improve wear life. Strong steel and nylon belts enable the tires to conform better to the road to make the truck more comfortable on the street.
