The next logical step for the Ford F-150 will be into the hybrid world. Ford plans to make the F-150 Hybrid available by 2020, along with the hybrid version of the Mustang. With the overwhelming success of the EcoBoost® engine, Ford plans to expands its horizons, putting hybrid technology in two of its most iconic vehicles.

Ideally, Ford believes the F-150 Hybrid would be able to work like a generator at a job site. If a farmer ventures a few miles into a field, the F-150 would be able to act as an electrical source while providing powerful towing and hauling capability.
Advantages of the hybrid Ford vehicles
One of the most obvious benefits of hybrid technology is a reduction in carbon footprint. Most don’t realize that hybrid vehicles can actually provide more power and a more engaging driving experience.
A Hybrid Ford F-150 could drastically change the direction of the pickup truck as we know it. Ford choosing to highlight the F-150 and Mustang, two of the most visible, popular vehicles in the lineup, shows that they’re serious about this awesome technology!
Ford also announced that it will make a plug-in hybrid version of the Transit available to the European market in 2019.
Hybrid Mustang performance capability
The Hybrid Mustang is expected to get more low-end torque with a hybrid powertrain. The smaller EcoBoost® engine will be able to kick out more torque to deliver performance that closely resembles the current V8 Mustang.
The Ford F-150 Hybrid will be sold in Canada, the U.S., and the Middle East. With the addition of the Ford Transit plug-in hybrid, Ford looks to be making a push into the commercial truck market.
