2017 vs 2016 Ford Escape

Ever since the 2017 Escape was released earlier this year, plenty of individuals have been able to learn about and experience the changes and updates firsthand. However, if you are curious about how it stacks up against the previous model, this 2017 vs 2016 Ford Escape comparison should help.

Differences between the 2017 and 2016 Ford Escape

The Ford Escape has received several updates for the 2017 model year, including revisions to the exterior, improvements to the interior, and a number of enhancements under the hood. The 2017 Escape has a new sleek exterior design featuring a revised front end that resembles its older sibling, the Ford Edge. Drivers can also take advantage of a new 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which replaces the 1.6L version in the 2016 model, or a modified 2.0L turbo engine that offers more output than the previous Escape. In addition to extra SYNC 3 perks, the 2017 Escape also has a few more available safety technologies, including lane-keeping system, driver drowsiness monitor, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision alert.

Similarities between the 2017 and 2016 Escape models

Despite their differences, the 2017 and 2016 Ford Escape also share several of the same elements. For instance, both models come in three different trim levels—S, SE, and Titanium—with three different engine options. That way, shoppers can find the Escape model that best fits into their lifestyle. Apart from the changes and updates mentioned above, the 2017 and 2016 Ford Escape offer virtually the same interior features, including Dual-Zone Electric Automatic Temperature Control, heated steering wheel, leather-trimmed and heated front seats, and Voice-activated Navigation System, among others.
