2018 Ford Edge engine options and performance specifications

As far as crossovers and SUVs go, nothing has been able to live up to the hype and high performance that the Ford Edge family has been gracing drivers with for the better part of the last decade. The Edge, true to its name, has stayed on the cutting-edge of technology and power, which is evident when you look at the ample amounts of adrenaline it provides. We’ve got some information to pass along to you regarding the 2018 Ford Edge engine options and performance specifications, so come on in with us today and see what it can do!

2018 Ford Edge available engines and power ratings

For starters, the 2018 Edge comes with a standard SelectShift six-speed automatic transmission that is paired with each of its three available engines. Plus, you’ll also have the option to add an Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system into the mix, a great help for those times when you just want to get off the beaten path and see all the scenery that Edmonton has to offer. Check out what each of the Edge’s three engines can do below!

Engine Type Horsepower Torque Output Compression Ratio
2.0-litre Twin-scroll turbocharged EcoBoost® Inline 4 245 horsepower* 275 lb-ft* 9.7:1
3.5-litre Twin Independent Variable Valve Timing (Ti-VCT) V6 280 horsepower 250 lb-ft 10.3:1
2.7-litre Twin-Turbocharged EcoBoost® Inline 4 315 horsepower 350 lb-ft 10.0:1

*Achieved with 93 octane fuel.

All of these engines are stellar in their own right, but for the best power that the line has to offer, the Edge’s twin-turbo EcoBoost® is a clear favorite. Not only does it offer the most punch, but with available towing options, it can handle a maximum haul of 907 kilograms!
