How far can you take the 2018 Ford Focus on a full tank?

2018 Ford Focus fuel economy and maximum driving range

If you’re the kind of driver that lives for those long car rides without needing to pull over for gas often, we’ve got just the sedan for you right here on our lot. The Ford Focus has long been a staple in the compact vehicle market, forming quite a following on the back of its stellar innovation both under the hood and throughout its cabin. We’re looking at the former today, so join our Sherwood Ford team in checking out the 2018 Ford Focus fuel economy and maximum driving range!

2018 Ford Focus engine options and performance specs

Whether your desired Focus model comes in sedan or hatchback form, you’ll get your choice of three available engines, each able to provide their own stellar levels of performance for the price point. Lower-level trims offer either a 1.0-litre EcoBoost® three-cylinder or 2.0-litre Inline 4, capable of providing up to 123 and 160 horsepower, respectively.

For those in search of greater searing adrenaline, the Focus RS model warrants a second glance; its turbocharged 2.3-litre Inline 4 can churn out up to 350 horsepower, more than enough to take you from points A to B with fun to boot.

2018 Ford Focus fuel efficiency and range on one tank

To accurately portray the Focus’s fuel economy, we’ll be looking at its SE Sedan model; with manual transmission included, you can expect an efficiency rating as low as 7.84 L/100 km in the city and 5.88 L/100 km on the highway! This, combined with its 47-litre tank, means that you can travel up to 798 kilometers before having to pull over. That would be like driving from our office to Regina, Saskatchewan without needing to stop for more gas!
