In 1964, Henry Ford II unveiled the first Ford Mustang at the World’s Fair in New York. 54 years later, the Ford Mustang packs the same punch car enthusiasts have come to know and love from a Mustang. The 2018 Ford Mustang has new features and a higher performance than previous models, and the performance is reflected in these new changes.
The Ford Mustang features a new 10 speed auto transmission, which helps increase torque and horsepower output. The 2018 Mustang, also features five driving modes. Ford introduced the new Drag Strip Mode, as part of an optimal performance package. Drag Strip Mode allows the engine to not drop torque when shifting, which allows peak performance, even when shifting. This feature is perfect for the owner who wants to feel the adrenaline rush of true power provided by this Mustang.
The new 2018 Ford Mustang features 2 engine choices, both packed with the power you would expect out of a Mustang. The more efficient engine is the 2.3L EcoBoost. This engine has 310 horsepower, the same as the previous model, however, Ford boosted the torque up to 350 lb.-ft. The real show comes from the revamped 5.0L GT, where Ford added a new Dual-fuel, high-pressure direct injection and low-pressure port fuel injection. These new developments translate to a powerful engine with 460 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque. This new and improved engine allows this pony to gallop from 0-100 kph in 3.9 seconds, roaring up to a top speed of 250 Kph.
