2021 Ford Bronco powertrain options

What are my engine and transmission options for the 2021 Ford Bronco?

As a vehicle with a heavy focus on performance, the 2021 Ford Bronco has been given several engine and transmission options. Below, you can view all of the 2021 Ford Bronco power train options.

2021 Ford Bronco – available engine options

With best-in-class power ratings, both of the engine options for the 2021 Ford Bronco are impressive choices. You can choose between the available best-in-class six-cylinder gasoline 2.7 L EcoBoost engine or the available best-in-class four-cylinder gasoline 2.3 L EcoBoost engine. While similar, they each have different power ratings that may suit different driving styles.

The six-cylinder, 2.7 L engine has best-in-class horsepower with a 310-hp rating. The torque of this engine is rated at 400 lb-ft. These ratings make this engine the more powerful of your two options, which may be important for some thrill-seekers.

The other engine is a more compact 4-cylinder 2.3 L engine. It is rated at 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Its torque rating is best-in-class for this engine type.

2021 Ford Bronco – available transmission options

Your transmission options for the 2021 Ford Bronco include a manual and an automatic. Manual transmissions give you a closer relationship with your vehicle, while automatic transmissions let your vehicle do the dirty work. Whatever your preference, the 2021 Ford Bronco provides a great option.

The manual option is a 7-speed manual transmission. It is a class-exclusive option, which can be matched with the 2.3 L engine to achieve its 270-horsepower rating. This transmission option provides a best-in-class crawl ratio of up to 94.75 to one.

Your other choice is the available SelectShift ® 10-speed automatic transmission. With the current popularity of automatic transmissions, we are guessing that a lot of you will be keen on this option. It offers impressive low gears for off-road driving.

2021 Ford Bronco – drive system options

The 2021 Ford Bronco offers two different 4×4 drive systems. You can choose the 4×4 with part-time selectable engagement or the advanced 4×4 with automatic on-demand engagement. The advanced system is like an enhanced version of the part-time 4×4 system.

The 4×4 drive system with part-time selectable engagement features three special drive modes plus a Neutral drive mode. The drive modes help you navigate different surfaces such as deep sand, steep inclines, or other terrains. When in the Neutral position, the 2021 Ford Bronco can be flat-towed.

The advanced 4×4 drive system adds an automatic mode that can select between 2H and 4H drive modes as needed. The 4H drive mode sends continuously varied power to the front wheels to optimize performance. Basically, this system can take care of the heavy lifting when it comes to difficult terrain.
