Back It Up Easy Manoeuvring with the 2017 Super Duty Trailer Reverse Guidance takes the guess work out of steering. Ford first introduced a Pro Trailer Backup assist system in the Ford F-150 and is now offering heavy-duty trailer-towing technology for the F-series Super Duty line of trucks. Reverse guidance provides multiple views of the truck and trailer utilizing some of the seven cameras as seen below.
The two side-view cameras are mounted in the mirrors, along with the tailgate camera and an additional camera that can be custom placed on the back of the trailer improving visibility. They all work together to track the trailer direction to alert the driver on the display when the angle between truck and trailer could cause a jack-knife situation. As seen below, a camera is also located in the center high-mounted stop light. This gives a view of the truck bed for easy hookup of gooseneck and fifth-wheel trailers.
Now watch how easy Trailer Reverse Guidance is for even a beginner trying out the assist system for the first time!
Trailer Reverse Guidance features include:
Note: Trailer Reverse Guidance uses the same trailer set-up process as Pro Trailer Back-up Assist, with the same black-and-white checkerboard sticker and trailer measurements. A Quick Start Guide, Measurement Card and Stickers are provided to the customer if Trailer Reverse Guidance is selected.
