We’re on the cusp of jumping into the 2020s, and the vehicles that we drive are becoming more and more innovative with each passing model year. Ford has always been a model brand that, pardon the pun, is always in tune to the needs of today’s drivers, and that’s why it’s no surprise that the new SYNC 4 infotainment system it’s unveiled is one of the most advanced in the Canadian market.
Today, our Sherwood Ford sales team wants to show you the best features and functions of the new Ford SYNC 4 infotainment system – there’s even more to love when it comes to staying connected (and entertained) on the drive!
You can see it in the phones and tablets in production today – screens are getting larger and more capacitive than ever. SYNC 4 mirrors this, as inside new Ford models, you’ll be treated to available 12-inch touchscreens (15.5 inch screens are also optional) that offer pinch-to-zoom functionality and split-screen multitasking. This means that you can navigate and change a radio station, for example, without having to close out of one app and open the other.
All new Ford vehicles will come with an available 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, which is an incredible tech achievement in its own right, but it also means that SYNC 4 will rely heavily on cloud computing and storage for navigation. Having everything stored in the cloud for easy access, your turn-by-turn directions can be updated with the latest available information at all times. Also, with machine learning built in, SYNC 4 can recognize your preferences and favourite spots around town!
You’re probably one of the vast majority of Canadians who pairs their phone to their infotainment system the second you jump in the car, and this is made even easier by Ford’s SYNC 4 technology. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are wireless with the new system, and wireless charging is also optional. Plus, with AppLink Convenience Controls, you can control the radio, interior lighting or climate right from your phone!
If you’re tired of having to leaf through your owner’s manual just to see which kind of wiper blades you need, SYNC 4 has you covered. It’ll offer a full digital owner’s manual that you’re free to check out at any time, complete with how-to videos and more in-depth info on vehicle features. Also, SiriusXM with 360L will be available, which can stream shows, live performances, and even interviews through your speakers on demand!
