July 1, 2017, marks the 150th anniversary of Canada’s Confederation and to celebrate, Edmonton is going all-out. Honoring the holiday, the city will be hosting a ten-day event featuring tons of events and things to go do and experience. The entire festival kicks off on June 21st at the Alberta Legislature Grounds in Edmonton. Keep reading for a complete list of events and details about Canada Day fireworks!
Getting fans excited about the upcoming holiday, Canada 150 will be hosting and extra ten days of live music leading up to Canada Day at the Capital Plaza.
Countdown To Canada Day Schedule
7 a.m. – Canada Day Road Race
7 a.m. to 10 a.m. – Canada Day Pancake Breakfast
10:15 a.m. – Canada Day Celebration Cake
10:30 a.m. – Citizenship Ceremony
11 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Alberta Family Fun Zone
11:30 a.m. – The Loyal Edmonton Regiment Band
12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Welcome Ceremony
12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. – Legislature Building Open House
Canada Day Fireworks Edmonton and Sherwood Park
A holiday just isn’t complete with a full fireworks display. This year, you can see Canada Day fireworks at 11 p.m. over Edmonton’s River Valley Parks and the North Saskatchewan River.
