Ford Super Duty Fifth Wheel Hitch Information and Power Ratings

Ford itself offers plenty of great accessories to get you started. Its OEM 5th Wheel hitch kit (see order parts below) has a GTWR of up to 27,500 pounds and pin weight rating of 6,250 pounds; this hitch kit also comes with a forged jaw,  head support structure, vertical height adjustment, and side-to-side pivot capabilities to hook up your trailers more easily. A 14-16.5 inch vertical height adjuster and extended-length handle may also help with this.

Keep in mind, however, that this hitch kit cannot be used with drop-in bedliners or bed mats, which is something you’ll need to be aware of if your Super Duty model has either. The good news is that every Super Duty from the 2011 model year to today in 2019 is able to have this kit installed into the Fifth Wheel Prep Package!

Besides the Ford OEM 5th wheel hitch, other leading manufacturers such as Reese, Curt  and B&W Companion have built hitches that are also compatible with current Super Duty models.
