The 2018 model year will be the first for the Ford EcoSport, and it will have to take on one of the industries most captivating new vehicles: the 2017 Mazda CX-3. What are some of the differences between the 2017 Mazda CX-3 and 2018 Ford EcoSport? We’ll take a look at how the EcoSport compares with Mazda CX-3 and what you should look for when you’re buying a subcompact SUV.
The 2018 EcoBoost will bring a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder and 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine to the table. These engine options will allow consumers to find the ideal model for their lifestyle. The 2017 Mazda CX-3 features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Both Ford EcoSport engines are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine comes standard with all-wheel drive capability on the EcoSport!
The all-new 2018 Ford EcoSport is available with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing drivers to integrate their compatible smartphone with the infotainment system, providing access to apps native of their phone operating systems. The 2017 Mazda CX-3 is not available with access to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.
While both vehicles sport a large infotainment system touchscreen, the Ford EcoSport features a larger 8-inch touchscreen, just a bit large than the 7-inch touchscreen found in the CX-3.
The 2018 Ford EcoSport is available in four different trim options: S, SE, SES, and Titanium.
Unlike the 2017 Mazda CX-3, which comes with a traditional liftgate, the 2018 Ford EcoSport features a unique side-hinge gate. With its uniquely compact design, the EcoSport features the handling capability of a smaller car, like the Ford Fiesta. The CX-3 is compact in its own right, but might fall behind the Ford EcoSport’s smooth ride and agile handling.
