Driver-Assist Technology on the 2018 Ford Expedition

Usher yourself into the future of driving with some of the driver-assist technology featured on the 2018 Ford Expedition.

Ford has always been at the forefront of automotive technology, and because of that they’ve been able to offer some of the most innovative features that have been designed to make driving easier and more convenient. What would you say to a vehicle that can park itself? How about one that can monitor the distance between your vehicle and the next? Or what about a vehicle that takes care of the areas around your car that you can’t see? The 2018 Ford Expedition is capable of doing all these things and many more!

Enhanced Active Park Assist

If you’re the kind of person who would rather not attempt to park your vehicle in a tight spot, or attempt to parallel park, this feature is a must-have. By making use out of ultrasonic sensors, the 2018 Expedition will be able to scan the area and locate a parking spot in which it will fit. Then, with you controlling the brake pedal, acceleration, and shifting, the 2018 Expedition will automatically park itself.

Adaptive Cruise Control

Another great technology available on the 2018 Expedition is the Adaptive Cruise Control System. By preselecting a distance that you would like to keep between your car and the one in front of you while cruising down the highway, the 2018 Expedition will be able to monitor the distance and automatically speed up or slowdown in order to maintain that distance. When there’s no traffic, the system will go to your normal cruising speed.

Blind Spot Information System®

Also available on the 2018 Expedition is the Blind Spot Information System, or BLIS. By using a radar along the side panels of the vehicle, this system is capable of detecting when another car is in your blind spot. If there is another vehicle in an area that you may not be able to see, all you’ll need to do is look at the side-view mirror where a warning light will be displayed when a vehicle is in your blind spot.
