Recently, Ford revealed a suite of new driver-assist technologies aimed at helping drivers during a number of vehicle manoeuvres. These high-tech features are designed to help reduce stress and avoid collisions as well as enhance the overall driving experience.
What new driver-assist features does Ford offer?
Wrong Way Alert: Uses a windshield-mounted camera and the vehicle’s navigation system to alert drivers if they start driving in the wrong direction
Evasive Steering Alert: Uses radar and a camera to detect stopped or slowing vehicles ahead and provides steering support to help drivers steer around them in an effort to avoid collisions on highways and city streets
Cross Traffic Alert with Braking: Uses radar sensors to detect traffic behind the vehicle and alert the driver when backing up; applies brakes if the driver does not respond
Rear Wide View Camera: Displays a wide view of the area behind the vehicle as well as around corners to assist drivers when backing up
Enhanced Active Park Assist: Controls steering, gear shifting, and direction to provide parking assistance for parallel spots as well as for reversing into perpendicular spots with the push of a button
