The Ford model family’s resurgence to the top of the North American automotive market is one that has been well-documented in recent years, as so many of its models have found themselves at the top of their classes. Overall, Ford has placed second in J.D. Power’s Initial Quality Study for 2018, with five models receiving the highest honors in their respective classes. We’ll tell you all about them today!
Which Ford vehicles were ranked highest by J.D. Power?
J.D. Power is one of the most respected and trustworthy names in the business when it comes to analyzing vehicles’ value and overall quality. It designated its winners for its Initial Quality Survey by how many problems per 100 vehicles are noticed during the first 90 days of ownership – in this regard, Ford has excelled!
Citing the improvements made by the Ford family regarding tech quality (led by SYNC® 3 infotainment connectivity), exterior and interior design, feature controls and overall driving experience, nine members of the Ford and Lincoln nameplates were recognized in the top three of their segments. Ford’s top performers were the Expedition, Mustang, and F-Series Super Duty.
Ford was also noticed for its continuous improvement in quality across the board, as its overall score (81 problems per 100 vehicles) improved for the fifth consecutive year – this also represents the line’s highest ever score in the 32-year history of the J.D. Power Initial Quality Awards. It’s certainly a great time to be a Ford fan and owner!
