Ford Plug-In Hybrid Police Vehicle

In an effort to make every vehicle on the road more fuel-efficient and better for the environment, Ford has announced its first gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle available for police and government personnel.

At Sherwood Ford, we’re as passionate about conserving our wonderful environment as you are. We want our children and grandchildren to be able to enjoy the beauty that nature provides just like we did when we were younger. One of the best ways to help protect the environment is to reduce the carbon emissions produced by our vehicles. Now, thanks to ground-breaking technology from the engineers at Ford, even the police force will be able to go green thanks to the first plug-in hybrid police vehicle offered by Ford.

2018 F-150 Police Responder

Ford Plug-In Hybrid Police Vehicle Driving Range

2017 has been a great year for police around North America. First, the 2018 F-150 was modified into a Police Responder model so law enforcement could enjoy more off-road capabilities. Now, they’ll be able to reduce the emissions produced by their vehicles thanks to the innovative technology in Ford’s plug-in hybrid police vehicle. Thanks to a lithium-ion battery, the plug-in police vehicle will be able to travel 33.8 kilometres without using a drop of gasoline!

Combined with its regular gasoline engine, the plug-in hybrid police vehicle provides a range of over 804.7 kilometres! Because this vehicle can be plugged into just about any outlet, law enforcement officers could potentially go an entire shift on full-electric mode. In addition to being efficient, the plug-in hybrid police vehicle is also quick. When in full-electric mode, the vehicle has a top speed of around 136.8 km/h. That’ll make anyone think twice about trying to outrun this hybrid.

When is the Ford Plug-In Hybrid Police Vehicle Coming to Canada?

As of now, the Ford plug-in hybrid police vehicle has just been released in a few select cities down in the States, but the expectation is for the vehicles to move north of the border as soon as next year!
