How to stream music through Ford SYNC-3

Ford’s newest SYNC-3 user interface has been designed to give drivers a better experience with navigation and media streaming while behind the wheel, including new and updated voice activated technology. SYNC-3, which comes as a package option on all new Ford vehicles, offers its users new features which include improved methods of streaming your favorite songs.

3 ways to stream music through Ford SYNC-3

  1. USB Port: The standard method for connecting your phone to Ford’s SYNC-3 interface is through the use of a USB cable. USB cables are especially useful because they allow you to charge your device while you stream your favorite music through the SYNC-3 interface. In most Ford models, the USB connection port is located in or near the center console.
  2. Bluetooth: Bluetooth is quickly becoming one of the top choices for connecting your phone to a vehicle’s digital interface, and for good reason: It allows for cordless connection between your phone and vehicle and includes hands-free calling with Ford’s SYNC-3 system.
  3. Sirius XM Radio: A new feature that comes standard with your SYNC-3 option is the ability to stream music through Sirius XM, a satellite-based radio application which includes access to commercial-free music, coverage of sporting events, and all the latest news, among other amenities. With SYNC-3, you also have the ability to pause and rewind your music, giving you the chance to listen to that awesome breakdown again and again.

If you feel more comfortable using more traditional methods of connection, fear not! New Ford models still give you the option to connect via a 3.5 mm auxiliary cable, which you can also use to stream your favorite media easily.

If you are still confused as to how to connect your phone, refer to the owner’s manual that comes along with your new Ford vehicle. If you have additional questions, feel free to contact the support team at Sherwood Ford or your local Ford dealer.
