Performance Features on the 2017 Ford Escape

Sure, the Ford Escape is sleek, stylish, and capable of getting the whole family to and from school, hockey games, the rodeo, and more, but do you know about its amazing performance features?

At Sherwood Ford, the Escape has always been one of our most popular vehicles, and with the 2017 model, it’s easy to see why. When you sit in the driver’s seat of the 2017 Ford Escape, you’re sitting down in one of the most capable SUVs on the market. The Escape lets you choose between three different engines based on whether you need a little extra power, or if you’re looking for more fuel efficiency. Lucky for you, we’ve got a wide variety of Escape trim levels and engine options at Sherwood Ford. Take a look at our inventory to find your next Escape today!

Escape Towing Capacity

When you choose the available 2.0L Twin-Scroll EcoBoost® engine and the Class II Tow Package, the 2017 Escape can tow up to a massive 3,500 lbs. To help keep everything under control while you’ve got the trailer hitched up, the Escape features an available trailer sway control system. When the system detects the trailer beginning to sway, it automatically applies precise braking to keep both the trailer and your vehicle under complete control.

Torque Vectoring Control

To help balance the distribution of engine torque, the 2017 escape features a Torque Vectoring Control system. This helps to improve traction on even the slipperiest of terrains, and gives drivers the confidence they need to drive through any road condition. In cornering situations, the system can automatically apply the brake on the front inside wheel to deliver more torque to the front outside wheel and enhance the overall handling of the Escape.
