Remembrance Day 2016 ceremonies in Edmonton, AB

For those of you looking to pay your respects and remember those that have served our country this Remembrance Day, here are some ceremonies and services taking place in Edmonton, AB on Friday, November 11, 2016.

Millenium Place Ceremony Set | Strathcona County

The wheels are in motion for the annual Remembrance Day ceremony at Millennium Place on Friday, Nov. 11.As has been the case for the past few years, local dignitaries and politicians, as well as locally-based organizations and groups within the community, will lay wreaths.  Attendees are invited to be seated by 10:30 a.m.

Remembrance Day Service | City Hall

A Remembrance Day service is happening at City Hall on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 10:15 a.m. until 10:35 a.m. Seating in the City Room will start at 9:45 a.m. and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. There will also be limited standing room available. The service will be led by the Commanding Officer of The Loyal Edmonton Regiment, and His Worship, Mayor Don Iveson will also be attending.

Wreath-Laying Ceremony | City Hall

After the Remembrance Day service at City Hall, you can follow the outdoor procession to the City Hall cenotaph, where wreaths will be laid in remembrance of those who have served our country. The ceremony is scheduled to last from 10:55 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

The Loyal Edmonton Regiment Military Museum

The Loyal Edmonton Regiment Military Museum will be open on Remembrance Day, November 11, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. The public can take part in museum tours and other activities as well as a brief ceremony and moment of silence at 11:00 a.m.

Remembrance Day Service | U of A Butterdome

The University of Alberta is hosting a Remembrance Day service in the Buterdome at Van Vliet Centre on Friday, November 11, 2016. The service is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m., so attendees are requested to be in their seats by that time.
