Thanks to many standard and available driving technologies, the 2018 Ford Edge give you, well, and edge behind the wheel.

We live in a very tech-friendly world. Quite frankly there’s no getting around it. You’ve either got to adapt, or fall to the ground. Thankfully, Ford has always been among the industry’s leaders when it comes to automotive technology. Take the 2018 Ford edge for example. Because it features so many standard and available driver assistance technologies, your morning commute is destined to become easier and more convenient starting with the first time you drive your 2018 Edge.

Blind Spot Information System®

Available on the 2018 Edge is an innovative Blind Spot Information System, or BLIS. This feature has been designed to raise your confidence when switching lanes either on the highway, or when driving through town. While we’ll always recommend to physically check your blind spots, this system is capable of checking for you. Sensors located along the side panels of the Edge monitor the road and can alert you if there is a vehicle in either one of your blind spots.

Lane-Keeping System

When you choose to add the Ford Safe and Smart™ Package, you’ll be treated to the Lane-Keeping System. This system operates both during the day and at night to monitor your exact position on the road. If the system detects that you’re beginning to unintentionally veer out of your lane, it is able to automatically apply torque to certain wheels in order to help steer your Edge back into the correct lane.

Enhanced Active Park Assist

Also available on the 2018 Edge is the amazing Enhanced Active Park Assist. This feature is ideal for those who are not the biggest fans of trying to park in tight spaces, and who dread parallel parking. Ultrasonic sensors along the vehicle are able to scan the road to find a suitable parking spot that the Edge will fit into. Once a spot is found, the Edge will begin to park itself. All you need to do is work the brakes, acceleration, and shift the gears!
