Technology Features on the 2019 Ford Ranger

During its brief time away, the Ford Ranger has picked up a bunch of new technological features. Join us here at Sherwood Ford as we take a look at some of them.

New vehicles ultimately mean new technology. But what about returning vehicles? The Ford Ranger is finally back and features a host of standard and available technological features that have been designed to make driving easy and hassle free. In order to help get you prepared for its arrival, your friends here at Sherwood Ford have decided to list a handful of these technologies for you.

Adaptive Cruise Control

Available on the 2019 Ranger, the Adaptive Cruise Control system uses a sensor located in the front of the truck to monitor the distance between your Ranger and the vehicle ahead of you. When the system detects that the distance between vehicles is beginning to shrink, it will automatically slow down your engine speed in order to keep you at a safe distance away from the vehicle ahead of you. When traffic clears or the distance begins to grow again, you’ll return back to your normal cruising speed.

Lane Keeping System

Another helpful feature on the 2019 Ranger is the available Lane-Keeping System. By using a sensor located behind the rear-view mirror, this system is able to read the markings on the road to determine your exact position within your lane. When the system begins to sense that you’re unintentionally veering out of your lane, it will send you warnings, and can even provide gentle steering torque to guide you back to your correct lane.

Blind Spot Information System

Also available on the 2019 Ranger is a Blind Spot Information System, or BLIS®. This innovative technology monitors the area around your Ranger, and your trailer, to watch out for any other vehicles approaching or entering your blind spot. When the system detects that another vehicle may be in a place that you cannot see, it will illuminate a warning light on the appropriate side-view mirror to let you know it isn’t safe to change lanes quite yet.
