What are the best tonneau covers for Ford F-150 near Edmonton, AB?

Hard rolling vs hard folding vs soft rollup tonneau covers

What type of tonneau cover should you get for your truck? That’s what this guide is all about, helping you choose between hard rolling, hard folding, or soft rollup tonneau covers. You can find all three truck-bed covers here at Sherwood Ford in Sherwood Park, AB.

What type of tonneau covers does Ford offer?

Ford offers a wide range of tonneau covers including the three main types: hard, rolling; soft, roll-up; and hard, folding. Ford also offers a range of bed cover sizes ranging from five feet to eight feet in length. Each of these types and sizes can also come in different styles and with different additional features, giving you every option that you could think of. Below, we’ll discuss the three main types to help you narrow down your options.

What is a hard, rolling, tonneau cover?

This tonneau cover provides the security of a hard folding tonneau with the convenience of a roll-up tonneau. There’s no heavy lifting required, and with the easy one-handed rolling design, opening and closing is a snap. The cover comes in a between the rails design or a locking rail design.

The between the rails design provides full access to the stake pockets for other accessories. When it’s rolled up, the cover provides 100% access to the cargo space. Top-mounted buckle straps secure the cover in a rolled bundle when it’s in an open position.

The locking rail design secures the cover the full length of the bed when closed. Outfitted in a rugged, leather-grained vinyl material, this cover is durable and easy to clean. This cover also features an optimized rear tailgate slat for proper operation of the Ford Automatic Tailgate Release while in use. It can be installed with easy, clamp-on, no drill installation.

What is a soft, roll-up tonneau cover?

Soft rolling covers are designed for convenient opening and closing. While the material is softer than a hard folding cover, fully automatic tension control keeps the cover taut in any extreme weather. Inside-the-rail mounting allows full access to stake pockets and compatibility with bedrails, hooks, tiedowns and other accessories. An easy one-finger release latch quickly uncovers your cargo space.

Tonneau Cover – Rolling, Hard, available for 5.5-foot to 8-foot bed.

Tonneau/Bed Cover – Premium Soft Roll-Up, Black, available for 5.5-foot to 8-foot bed.

Tonneau Cover – Hard Folding by REV, Between the Rail, available for 5.5-foot to 8-foot bed

What is a hard folding tonneau cover?

The hard cover provides full access to the bed. Featuring a sleek, “no profile” design, this unique, folding tonneau mounts flush with the sides of the truck bed. It’s made from rigid, heavy-duty ¾” thick panels strong enough to hold 300 lbs. Rugged synthetic hinges and seals provide outstanding weather resistance. Even in a closed position, it provides 100% access to stake pockets and works with tiedowns, bed rails, bed extenders and bedliners. You can lock the cover in full open position with the included prop rods for access to the whole bed without removing the cover. A hidden, quick-release latch system automatically locks panels when shut; meaning you can simply lock the tailgate to secure the cover.
