What suspension does the Ford Bronco SUV have?

Ford Bronco and Bronco Sport High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension (HOSS)

What suspension does the Ford Bronco SUV have? It has a High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension, also known as a HOSS. Keep reading below to learn more about the HOSS and visit Sherwood Ford to learn more about the Ford Bronco or Ford Bronco Sport. We’re located near Edmonton in Sherwood Park, AB.

Which Ford Bronco models come with a HOSS system?

Both Ford Bronco and Ford Bronco Sport models can be equipped with a HOSS system, however, that does not mean that every model comes with one. There are different trim levels of each vehicle, and each trim level has its own features. In this case, the HOSS system is a feature of Badlands ™ series vehicles. Two and four-door models with the Sasquatch ™ off-road package will also have the HOSS option.

What features make up the HOSS system for the Ford Bronco?

If you know much about suspensions, then you’ll know that they can be comprised of multiple features. The HOSS system is a great example because this high-performance suspension is made up of several elements. Together, these elements create an off-road worthy vehicle.

  • An independent front suspension
  • Taller coil springs on every corner
  • HOSS-tuned heavy-duty dampers
  • HOSS-tuned shock absorbers
  • A HOSS-tuned stabilizer bar
  • Stabilizer bar-delete

How does the HOSS system enhance the Ford Bronco?

Just knowing the components of the Ford Bronco model’s suspension isn’t enough. You also want to know how these ingredients combine to improve the performance of the vehicle. There are several measurable improvements that the HOSS suspension provides.

  • Increased impact absorption
  • High-speed pitch control
  • Reduced unsprung front axle weight up to 20 percent over competing designs
  • Better steering and precision with minimal steering wheel kickback

“HOSS gives both novice and experienced off-roaders a 4×4 that elevates their off-road experience on all sorts of terrain and speeds.”
