As far as performance goes, the 2017 Ford Escape lists three engine options, the 2.5L 4-cylinder being the standard choice and moving up to its EcoBoost engines from this point on. Ford continues to do an exceptional job of blending fuel efficiency with power in order to create a vehicle that doesn’t guzzle gas but still is enjoyable and sporty to drive.
Also, new for this year, the fuel tank in the 2017 Ford Escape has been increased, enabling it to hold a maximum of 61.7L. This means less time having to fuel up and being able to cover more miles on the road.
And just because you don’t know how or want to drive a manual on a daily basis doesn’t mean you have to miss out on all of the fun of being able to shift gears and be in more control of your vehicle. The Ford Escape can be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, allowing you to work your way up and down the gears without ever having to take your hands off the wheel. For those of you specifically looking for a compact crossover with a sportier look and feel, the 2017 Ford Escape with the available Sport Appearance Package can give you exactly this. Either the Escape SE or Titanium trim levels can be equipped with the Sport Appearance Package.
