Say hello a revolutionary new hybrid Ford truck: the 2022 Maverick! This new model focus on functionality and efficiency, all at an affordable price. Today, we’ll walk you through the entry level trim, the XL. Keep reading to see what you can expect. Give us here at Sherwood Ford in Sherwood Park, AB, a call or stop on by the dealership to learn more about new Ford models.
The 2022 Maverick XL comes standard with the 2.5L Hybrid Engine. This engine is paired with a CVT and FWD. If you’re looking for a bit more power, the turbocharged 2.0L EcoBoost four-cylinder engine is available as well. It comes with an eight-speed automatic and FWD. However, AWD is available with the EcoBoost engine.
If you choose the 2.0L EcoBoost engine and AWD for your 2022 Maverick XL, then you might want to add the available 4K Tow Package, which adds some new features specifically for towing. The Ford Co-Pilot360 package is also available, regardless of powertrain. It adds driver-assistive features like blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a lane-keeping suite.
The 2022 Ford Maverick XL comes in one of seven colours: Shadow Black, Oxford White, Area 51, Cactus Gray, Carbonized Gray, Iconic Silver, or Velocity Blue. Each model at this trim level comes standard with 17” silver steel wheels. The Maverick XL is upholstered in Black Onyx/Medium Dark Slate cloth seats.
The Maverick XL comes with multiple features to make your commute easier. Included are remote keyless entry, one front and one rear 12V power outlet, power windows, automatic climate control, and a cabin particulate filter. Some additional features are available, like all-weather floor liners and a 400W power inverter.
The 2022 Maverick XL has five drive modes to suite the road conditions. They are: Normal, Eco, Sport, Slippery, and Tow/Haul. Each focuses on a different aspect of driving to maximize performance or efficiency.
The Maverick is truck, so naturally it has all sorts of storage space! The box measures 4’6”x6’0", which gives you a lot of room to work with. Inside the cabin, you also get access to rear under-seat storage bins, which go a long way in helping to maximize storage.
The 2022 Maverick XL might be the entry-level trim, but it doesn’t skimp on connectivity. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, as is a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, FordPass Connect capability, and an 8” touchscreen. Bluetooth connectivity and six-speaker stereo are standard too. It comes with two USB ports: one USB-A, one USB-C.
The Maverick XL comes with many standard safety features. It has features you’d expect, like stability control and traction control, but it also has auto high-beam headlights, automatic on/off headlights, pre-collision assist, automatic emergency braking, and a rear-view camera.
Each 2022 Maverick is a little different, especially once you consider all the available features and packages you can add. However, a few basic specifications remain constant. Take a look.
