Ever since, we’ve seen our nation grow to one that is glorious and free, and we always have plenty to celebrate. Canada Day at Broadmoor Lake Park
Join festivities at Broadmoor Lake Park (Oak Street, Sherwood Park) to celebrate Canada’s birthday at Strathcona County’s largest festival. Family activities, performances and fun for everyone! Most activities are free, some require tickets. Please note: photos and videos may be taken at this event for promotional purposes.!
Canada Day at the Alberta Legislature
Want to do Canada Day Alberta style? You can do a lot worse than coming to hang out at the Alberta Legislature. Festivities begin on the legislative grounds at 10 am, with live music, games for the kids, and even the chance to tour the Legislature Building and walk on the Chamber floor!
Canada Day at the Valley Zoo
Not only is it Canada’s birthday on July 1st, it’s also the Edmonton Valley Zoo’s! One of Edmonton’s favourite attractions turns 60 this year, so come by to celebrate with live music, airbrush tattoos, animal crafts, and even some cupcakes. Regular admission, annual passes, and Naturally Edmonton passes will all be accepted, so if you want to celebrate our nation with some awesome animals, the Zoo is your best shot!
Edmonton Prospects Baseball
Sometimes there’s no better way to wrap up a great day than to catch a game at the ballpark, which is exactly what you can do on Canada Day. Our hometown Edmonton Prospects will be taking on the Moose Jaw Miller Express at RE/MAX Field, so come on by and cheer them on. A post-game concert and jersey auction will follow too, as well as an awesome firework show, so be sure to stick around after the final pitch!
Canada Day Celebration – Mainstage
You’re all invited to come stop by Jubilee Park in nearby Spruce Grove for a special Canada Day concert with an added treat – each performer is based out of our home province of Alberta! Starting at 7 pm, this show will feature country musician Steve Newsome, indie band The Wet Secrets, and headlining will be the Debrina Harvey Band, playing Celtic rock. We can’t wait!
