What can I do for Labour Day 2019 in Edmonton?

Fun Labour Day Weekend 2019 Events in Edmonton AB

Canadians are some of the hardest-working people on the planet, enough to where there’s a holiday specifically designed to celebrate the achievements that our country has made over the years. Labour Day is not only a welcome day off from work and school, but it’s also an incredible way to start the fall season, which is something we can all look forward to. We don’t want you to miss out on the action in a few weeks, so join us at some fun Labour Day Weekend 2019 events in Edmonton AB and have a great time!

Labour Day Weekend at the Alberta Railway Museum

The Alberta Railway Museum is one of our favourite spots in the city – if you’re into trains, this is a must-visit, as it has plenty of displays detailing the history of locomotives and rail travel and how it helped to build Edmonton into an economic powerhouse of a city. During Labour Day weekend, union members get in free, adding that extra incentive to come check it out!

Water Lantern Festival (August 31)

Kick off your Labour Day weekend right on August 31 (that’s a Saturday) at Rundle Park, where we’ll be checking out its annual Water Lantern Festival. As the name suggests, hundreds of lanterns will be released into the lake, a beautiful spectacle that you just can’t find anywhere else. There will also be live music, great food trucks, and plenty of fun to be had; we can’t wait!

Le Burger Week

Consider yourself a burger connoisseur? Check out Le Burger Festival, happening throughout Edmonton from September 1 to the 7th. You’ll get to sample plenty of amazing collections from restaurants throughout the country, then vote online for the winner – it’s free to attend, and truth be told, we can’t think of anything better than enjoying a nice fall day with a big, tasty burger to judge.

Prairie Gardens Sweet Corn Fest

As this time of year is the beginning to the fall season, events like the Prairie Gardens Sweet Corn Fest are more than welcome. With corn mazes, train rides, corn eating contests, live folk music, and much more happening over the Labour Day weekend, this is a festival that’s sure to unleash the cozy, pleasant and welcoming vibes of one of our most beloved seasons.
