John Janzen Nature Centre 

John Janzen Nature Centre is open every day from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. It provides a great area to snowshoe in, as well as an indoor play area for kids. So, snowshoe until you’re cold, then go inside for more entertainment. 

Strathcona Wilderness Centre 

If you like multiple winter sports, this is a great place. It offers trails for snowshoers and skiers, as well as lessons. Furthermore, you can rent snowshoes here if you don’t own any. Plus, you can view live trail conditions online. 

Whitemud Creek Trail 

If your dog wants to accompany you on a leash, then head to Whitemud Creek Trail. It is a dog-friendly, snowshoe-friendly trail spanning four miles. It is not a looping trail, so you can choose how far to go before turning back. 

Mill Woods Park 

Mill Woods Park or Mill Woods Sports Park is a large recreation area that includes trails and sports fields. In the winter season, sports fields and the water playground are closed, meaning fewer crowds and more room to snowshoe. Plus, it is easily accessible with parking and portable restrooms. 

Rundle Park  

If you’ve never been to Rundle Park, you’re missing out. It offers something for everyone, for every season. For winter, this includes ski trails, a toboggan hill, multi-use trails, and Rundle IceWay, which is an ice trail for skating along. Terwillegar Park 

Terwillegar Park offers numerous multi-use trails and a large off-leash area for dogs. So, let your dog burn off some steam running around in the snow before you hit the trails for some on-leash snowshoeing.
