Tips and tricks for camping safety and fun

Whether you’re staying in a tent, cabin or RV, it’s important to stay aware of any potential hazards that might arise when you’re camping. To help, we’ve listed some precautions for you:

  • Pack your food in tight, sealed containers to prevent them from spoiling. Make sure you have plenty of water also, in order to stay hydrated when you’re adventuring.
  • Be sure you have plenty of insect repellent on hand when you go hiking or biking around the campsite – also, always have a clean change of clothes on hand!
  • Not much is worse than getting a sunburn, so to protect yourself from UV rays, bring some sunscreen with you to the campground – you’ll have one less thing to worry about.
  • To keep bears and other wildlife away from your area, keep your food or any other odor-emitting goods in a storage locker, your car, or other protective containers.

And finally, you should always pay attention to how your body responds to outdoor living. Allergies can be prevalent if you’re not used to them, so ensure that you always have the necessary precautions to treat issues or conditions that could arise.
