We’ve wrapped up our 2020 Giant Thanksgiving Food Drive, and we want to share the results with you. First of all, we want to thank everyone who participated this year in collecting or donating food donations. Fantastic work, team! Your efforts are greatly appreciated. We want to thank you for making a giant difference in our community by helping put food on someone’s table!
We are happy to announce that the students and staff of Lakeland Ridge School in Sherwood Park have collected 788 pounds of food to help fight hunger in Strathcona County! The students and staff of Lakeland Ridge School inspire each of us to do our best and follow their example in helping the community. The donations have been brought to the Strathcona Food Bank already, and we know that many members of our community would like to thank Lakeland Ridge School.
As you know from our previous blog post on the Giant Thanksgiving Food Drive, Sherwood Ford partnered with Oilersnation to make this event happen. Food donations from M.E. LaZerte High School and Belmont Sobeys during the event have totaled 963 pounds! These donations will have a positive impact on the fight against hunger at the Edmonton Foodbank, and we are happy to have been able to help our community this year!
Here we have a quick video of the processes involved in the Giant Thanksgiving Food Drive. As you can see from all of our boxes, 788 pounds of food is no small feat! This video showcases the donations of the students and staff of Lakeland Ridge School in Sherwood Park.
Again, thank you to everyone who participated in the Giant Thanksgiving Food Drive this year! Every donation makes a difference and those of you who volunteered your time and efforts are the reason this could take place. Here we have some photos from the event showing our hard workers, our food collection trucks, and a few of the many donations that we received in October 2020!
