What is the Tools for Schools Program?

The Tools for Schools Program is an annual program that helps families in need get much-needed school supplies for their children. The program is run by United Way and has been providing donations for nearly three decades. Last year, 12,589 backpacks and kits were collected and distributed through the program. This year, 15,500 requests for supplies have been made, meaning the demand has gone up drastically due to economic hardship and the relocation of many people to the Alberta Capital Region.

Sherwood Ford is helping the Tools for Schools Program by collecting donations from drivers. The donations are being collected by the service department, and a 10% discount on vehicle maintenance and repairs helps incentivize these donations. Donations are being collected from September 1 through September 30. Individuals will also want to participate to help the community members of Parkland, Leduc, Sturgeon, Lamont and Strathcona counties.
