The Salvation Army Edmonton Resource Centre delivers food to those in need

This May, Sherwood Ford was able to provide a Ford Transit Van to the Salvation Army Edmonton Resource Centre in Edmonton, AB. The Salvation Army uses this van to deliver food to ministry outreach centres and food banks in the area, helping to feed families in need. Below, we have more information on the Ford Transit Van and the Salvation Army Edmonton Resource Centre.

What is the Salvation Army mobile refrigerator unit?

The Salvation Army mobile refrigerator unit is a 2020 Ford Transit High Roof Extended Van provided by Sherwood Ford on May 5th, 2020. Upfitted by Polar Mobility of Edmonton, this van provides the Salvation Army with a traveling refrigerator, which can keep its interior temperature as low as minus ten degrees Celsius. The mobile refrigerator unit can use engine power or be plugged in to keep cool.

What is the Salvation Army mobile refrigerator unit used for?

As the only Salvation Army Mobile Refrigerator unit serving the region, this 2020 Ford Transit Van plays an important role in transporting food to those in need. Members of the Salvation Army pick up donations from local grocery stores and other donors on a daily basis and take them to locations that provide food to the community. The van will operate year-round to deliver food and to help out during Christmas and other community events.

How can I help out the Salvation Army in Edmonton, AB?

The 2020 Ford Transit Van mobile refrigerator unit runs solely on donations. One of the biggest ways you can help out is by donating to the Salvation Army Resource Centre in Edmonton, AB. Your options for donating include online donations at tsaedmontoncrc.ca/donate, in-person donations at one of the Salvation Resource Centre locations throughout Edmonton, or mail donations sent to the following address:
