With the holidays coming up, many of us are looking for ways to give back and support the community. Sherwood Ford is helping out by collecting donations for the Strathcona Christmas Bureau throughout the month of November. Donations can be brought to our sales and service center all month. The Strathcona Christmas Bureau is collecting toys, gifts, and money to help families in need this year. You can bring, toy, and gift donations to Sherwood Ford. Monetary donations can be sent through the organization’s website, strathconachristmasbureau.com, or in person at Fire Hall #1 on Sherwood Drive. Here are some ideas for what you can bring.
Unopened, unused children’s gifts in the following categories:
- Books including coloring books and children’s picture books
- Board games for kids and families
- Small electronics including portable speakers
- Sporting equipment including skateboards, helmets, basketballs, and more
- Dolls and stuffed animals
- Trucks and cars
- Toys for children ages 0-2
What is the Strathcona Christmas Bureau?
The Strathcona Christmas Bureau is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization overseen by a Board of Directors. It has been helping families in Strathcona County since 1977. Every year around Christmas, it has a mission to provide qualifying residents hampers full of food and gifts. Occasionally, surplus funds are shared with similar community agencies who are supportive of its efforts in the community. The Strathcona Christmas Bureau is a registered charity with a goal of $100,000 for its 2022 campaign.
Who receives the donations from the Strathcona Christmas Bureau?
Once the hampers are filled with gift donations, they will be distributed to families and residents of Strathcona County. If you know a family in need, you can refer them before November 30, 2022. All referrals will be confidential
