About Stollery Kids
Every year, thousands of sick children visit the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta for their best chance at living a long and healthy life. Kylie Jones with the Stollery, says children need very specific paediatric care when their last line of defence is going through heart surgery and transplants.
The Stollery Children’s Hospital services approximately 225 thousand children annually from across Western Canada and north to the Yukon and Northwest Territories. Garret and Krista Anderson never thought they’d need the Stollery Children’s Hospital. The day of the birth of their first child, Mason was born with a heart condition that required immediate surgery for his survival. Garret and Krista talk about the amazing Stollery staff.
Donors Are The Difference
Donors make the difference for Stollery Kids! Whether it’s a specialized operating room for critical patients, rehabilitation support or even pet therapy. Kylie says donors play a GIANT role for kids and families.
Garret and Krista are so grateful to donors who make a difference. Without the donations, Krista and Garret say they’re son wouldn’t have had the chance at life that he’s experienced since his open heart surgery four years ago.
Test Drive For Stollery Kids
From June 1st to June 30th, visitors who take a test drive of any new or pre-owned vehicle will help make a GIANT difference. Sherwood Ford hopes to donate thousands of dollars by giving $10 dollars from each test drive to the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. Kylie says there’s always a need at the Stollery. If you’re unable to visit the Sherwood Park Ford dealership at 2540 Broadmoor Boulevard to test drive a vehicle, Kylie invites you to simply visit the Stollery Kids donation webpage and show your support. Also, if a monetary donation isn’t possible, Kylie says there are other ways to help Stollery Kids.
Nothing can truly prepare you for the day you may need to take your sick child to the Stollery. But Garret and Krista say the support they received from family, friends and his co-workers at Sherwood Ford was so wonderful.
