What’s going on for Victoria Day in Edmonton?

Victoria Day 2019 Events and Happenings near Sherwood Park AB

Queen Victoria is one of the most iconic figures in Canadian history, which is why each year, on May 24 (her birthday) or the Monday preceding it, we celebrate Victoria Day. Both a welcome day off from work and a ceremonial begin to summer, it’s a day that each Canadian looks forward to. If you and your friends are looking to have some fun over the long weekend in a couple weeks, come with our Sherwood Ford team to some of the coolest Victoria Day 2019 Events and Happenings near Sherwood Park AB!

Ukranian Village Celebration of Spring (May 20)

Ukranian culture is one that is both vibrant and expressive, which is what makes its Celebration of Spring (taking place at the Ukranian Cultural Heritage Village in Tofield) such an incredible sight to behold. With authentic old world activities, plenty of dancing, and an unbeatable atmosphere, we can’t recommend it enough!

Edmonton Rugby Fest (May 17-19)

From the days of Gretzky’s Oilers to the high-powered Eskimos squads of recent memory, Edmonton’s sports culture is nothing short of tremendous. That’s why it will be hosting its 51st annual Rugbyfest over Victoria Day weekend, with men’s and women’s 7’s tournaments, men’s 10’s and much more. Live music and DJs will add to the excitement as well!

Cuban Dance Night (May 18)

Head over to the Radisson Hotel & Convention Centre on Saturday night for a one-of-a-kind dance party; trained professionals from Cuba will be giving traditional dance lessons, complete with Cuban music, great food, and much more. Sounds perfect to us!

International Museum Day (May 18)

Of course, if you’re looking to get some culture in your life, May 18 is also International Museum Day – plenty of awesome exhibits will be on display at Edmonton’s Art Gallery of Alberta, with guided tours to boot. Best of all, it’s free with regular admission!
