Edmonton, AB – music and arts events
There are many events going on around Edmonton, as is expected for a big city. Symphony Under the Sky is taking place from September 1 to September 4 and features live music at Hawrelak Park. Another live music festival, Whyte Avenue Blues Festival, takes place from September 2 to September 3 and showcases the best blues bands in the country. If you prefer visual art to music, the Imagine Monet experience at the Edmonton Expo Centre will have its final day on September 2.
Fort Saskatchewan, AB – parade and photo contest
Well, this is a unique parade if you’ve never been before. Fort Saskatchewan has an annual Sheep Leaving Parade to bid their sheep goodbye for the year. This year, it will take place on September 5 at Fort Heritage Precinct starting at 11:30 AM. Make sure to bring your cameras for the sheep photo contest.

The Edmonton Corn Maze, located in Spruce Grove, offers not only a corn maze but pumpkins, sunflowers, and other locally grown produce. They’re open for summer and fall, including weekdays and weekends, so you can go any day you want to.
